With nearly 30 years in the beauty industry, Krista has built a career rooted in education, precision, honesty, and genuine client relationships. What began as a high school job assisting in a salon soon grew into a lifelong passion, leading her to cosmetology school and a career dedicated to continuous learning, personal growth, and helping others feel their best. Although nursing was her first career choice and occupational therapy her second, she quickly realized that healthcare wasn't the right fit for her. The beauty industry, however, offered the perfect opportunity to combine her desire to help people with her creativity and love for building meaningful connections.
Krista is highly regarded for her expertise in color and is especially known for her exceptional short haircuts. After attending Randy Rick Beauty Academy, she was fortunate to learn from respected educator and salon owner Amy Obritz, who helped shape her approach to precision cutting, color formulation, thorough consultations, and the importance of communication. Later, while working alongside Salon Avanti founder Kim Witwer, she further developed her consultation skills and deepened her understanding of hair types and customized solutions. Those lessons continue to influence her work today, allowing her to create personalized results that fit each client's hair type, lifestyle, and goals.
What clients appreciate most about Krista is her honesty and her ability to truly listen. She believes great hair starts with great communication and takes the time to understand what each guest wants while offering thoughtful, realistic guidance. Her goal is simple: to create a comfortable, welcoming experience where clients feel heard, cared for, and confident in the results. Many of her clients have been with her for years, and she has had the privilege of caring for multiple generations of families, building meaningful relationships that extend far beyond the salon chair.
Throughout her career, Krista has continued her education through advanced cutting, color, and American Crew barbering programs. She values learning from both mentors and fellow stylists and believes that surrounding yourself with talented professionals only makes everyone stronger.
Krista's greatest gift has always been her ability to build lasting relationships. Her loyalty, mentorship, and genuine care for others have shaped not only the lives of her clients, but also the evolution of Salon Avanti itself. Through decades of friendships, professional connections, and unwavering support of those around her, she has played an important role in helping the salon grow into the community it is today. Her impact can be seen not only in the guests she serves, but in the many stylists, friends, and families whose lives she has touched along the way.
When she's not behind the chair, you'll likely find Krista spending time with her two beautiful grown daughters and her supportive husband Eric, helping/caring for her best friend, Stephanie, within the salon and outside of the salon, making beautiful memories with new and old friends, reading a good book, tackling a home renovation project, practicing Pilates, browsing her favorite shops, or stopping to pet every dog she encounters. Her warmth, loyalty, and caring nature make her not only an exceptional stylist, but someone clients are genuinely grateful to know.
